Problem using Powerquest Drive Image 2002 (ver. 6)

Thread Starter
I have a Sager 8790 (D870P) with Windows XP Professional (OEM) installed.

I have installed Powerquest Drive Image 2002 and have a problem creating an image. When Drive Image reboots the laptop, it starts the laptop using its own Caldera DR-DOS and continues to load the DOS version of Drive Image (as the active partition cannot be imaged it reboots to DOS). Once its done that it hangs/freezes the laptop, rendering it useless and am only able to press the power button to turn the laptop off. According to Symantec Knowledge Base support (the only reference to this problem I have that I can find) is that Drive Image may not be able to handle the Graphical User Interface at DOS level on a laptop--yet booting the laptop using Powerquest Partition Magic 8.01 which uses the same/similar GUI, that works fine. I contacted Sager Technical support and say it might be to do with Drive Image not seeing the hard drive partition because the hard drive is connected to the Promise Controller and not a direct IDE connection. How Partition Magic sees the hard drive but Drive Image does not puzzles me. Can I get a DOS Promise driver? Can anyone help?
