Wireless LAN intermittent connection fix

Thread Starter
I thought this deserved a new thread.

After dealing with intermittent connections to my wireless access point and not being able to stream audio/video or download any files due to connection interruptions I have finally figured out the problem. If any of you are experiencing the same problem check to see if you have similar hardware.

I have a Sager 5660 and a Acer tablet pc (both with 802.11b wireless). For an access point, I ‘m using a D-link DI-614+ which has the Enhanced 802.11b or X4 performance.

After I disabled the enhanced performance feature in the D-link’s setup screen and re-booted the unit and my computers my connection problems were instantly fixed.

I hope this helps,

Mike

Agreed. The X4 performance tweaks they have been doing have caused me a lot of grief. My VPN client will not connect unless X4 stuff is turned off.

I am sure the drivers and firmware will get there eventually, but for now, the normal 802.11b settings work great.
