8790 and BlueTooth "mice"

I would like to use a BlueTooth mouse with my future 8790 but have been reading how many BT mice don't communicate with the internal BT card... Are any of you using a BT mouse/8790 successfully and if so what brand/model#?? I read one article stating many BT devices would require firmware updates to be compatible (not just with the Sager but any internal BT card etc)?

I know a guy can always use the BT adapter that comes w/the mouse, but I would rather have my USB ports available for something else...

Thanks all

My internal Bluetooth automatically found my MX900 once configured properly. No problems at all. The MX900 is the best bluetooth mouse out.

Are you using a 8790 with your mx900? I can't get in the BT software in control panel to configure -but I did get it working by using the usb. I've tried just about everything.

Yes, I'm using it with my 8790's internal bluetooth. My MX900's hub is only plugged in to the wall for charging, not into my laptop. You might need to upgrade your drivers at ww.sagernotebooks.com. Also, did you turn your bluetooth on by hitting FN+F12 (I think it is). Look in your manual about turning WIFI and bluetooth on and off. Hope that helps.

Like DrawMonster, I've got a Logitec MX 900 and I love it. Absolutely love it. My cradle's used only for charging and while I haven't tried programming the keys above and below the scroll wheel, I don't really have a need for them, so have never tried. Other than that, it's great.

Thanks drawmonster & FriedToast-
yes I did turn on BT with FN+F12. I will try sager's web-site for driver upgrade. I went to billiontronics web-site for there upgrade-no help. I have the mx700 on my 8600 & it's the best mouse I've ever used so, I really want this mx900 to work!

I use the MX700 mouse and keyboard on my desktops, and the MX900 on my laptop. It's nice not having to get used to the feel of a new mouse. I love Logitech products. I've got a MX900, couple of MX700's, Logitech Z-680's, Freedom 2.4Ghz Cordless Joystick, and the Wingman Cordless Rumblepad. Never had a problem with any of them.

Thanks everyone!

MX900 it is - let us know if someone irons out the exact driver load/exact process that allows it to work.

Thanks again

I've noticed something pretty annoying about the mouse (MX-900).

Actually, it is about this forum and the mouse. It seems that the Flash animations loop causes a little hitch, or delay, in my mouse movement. I was noticing it from the start but couldn't pin point it. Each time a page reloads, if I turn of the Notebook Forums flash animation in the top, the mouse works fine.

Anyone else notice this?

Hmm, no problem here. I visit the site often on my 8790 with no
glitches or anything.

I looked myself and none are listed under the 8790 but their is one listed under several other models... Bluetooth for Win XP V 1.42. See if you have an older one than that.

Just a thought

I don't have any problems w/ the Flash on this site, either. Seems to work fine (Firefox 0.9 and 0.9.1).

Driver-wise, I used the driver disc that came w/ my MX 900 and it's worked fine since then. I've never used or DL'd any other drivers.

I don't notice the hiccup when using firefox... it only happens in IE. Not sure why.

Well, I'm wrong. The problem happens with every browser and also the keyboard. I get random intermittent freezes. I don't know what is causing it.

It is like the whole system just freezes for a split second... Mouse, keyboard... flash animations, video playing... everything. It even happens with the touchpad. Just looking at the smiles on the right, while I type this... they all freeze for a second and then continue.

I always here a little noise in my power adapter when it happens. However, it happens when I'm just on battery as well... it also happens in different areas. I've scanned for viruses with AVG and have run AdAware.

I think it may have something to do with a driver conflict or some sort of wireless / wifi / bluetooth interference or conflict. I have no idea... but it is pretty damn annoying.

I have the Microsoft BT Mouse and it works fine with my 8790, but I had to upgrade the drivers at billonton site. The extra buttons works ok, but they can't be configured, so its set to the default back/forward functions. I've read that XP Service Pack 2 will probably fix this issue.

Hey FriedToast,
Have you gotten the little arrows above and below the mouse wheel to work? Everything but those work on mine. I can't seem to find a way to program them or anything.

Since the subject was BT mouse. I did not purchase the BT with my 8790 don't ask me why (8790 will be hear thursday). How difficult will it be to install....(yes I'm the noob). Thanks in advance!

drawmonster -They are both working on my mx900. I didn't program them they just work- man I wish logitch or bluetooth would fix this issue so we could install the software to program the button on these mx900

Drawmonster, I just checked and they do work for scrolling up and down. LOL I never checked that. Not that I need 'em for that function since the scroll wheel's right there. One button behind those towards the palm area doesn't do anything, though. Like 4speed said, I think it's a matter of Billionton updating their drivers so that the Sager bluetooth and the Logitech mouse'll play happily together.

Regardless, the lack of use of that button (and even the other 2 that do work) isn't a big deal to me. Left, Right, Scroll, Forward and Back all work. Makes me happy enough
