IBuyPower/Cyberpowerinc update their laptop range introducting essentially a painted mayhem g3 (don't remember the chasis name). looks kind of odd with the white keys, i wish they could change the color of the keyboard to say black. They also added 80 gb 5400 rpm drive to the options of the compal and this new computer. They still don't have a 3 year warranty though.

That's always fun. I'm guessing uniwel, because i heard the g3 was. Although it does look like mitac too. If they would just offer a 3 year warranty i would get it from them.

It'd be nice if they'd add 1.5, 1.6 and 1.7GHz Dothans already.

They seem pretty decently priced though. They also have a small 12.1" centrino weighing at a mere 4.4 pounds. 1280x800 WXGA! Not shabby for the size, probably gets great battery life too. I think its a better deal than the new alienware sentia which still doesn't have a dedicated graphics cards, it should at its price. i wonder what model the new 12.1" lappy is?

sweet ibuypower the the a64 want and at a good price. Im happy. now I just have to wait till the sager a64 comes out and see which one I want

I think it might be the same one being sold as the Sentia! There arent too many notebooks that have 12 inch widescreens. I know, because I am an ultraportable fan.

i wish the pictures of the new computers were up on there site, they don't seem to be working. only the opening thumbnail.

Nope, the two models dont appear to be the same. The Sentia has 3 usb ports, and this ibuypower one only has 2. I wonder what notebook it is...

I like new stuff. Makes things more exciting and confusing. I bet its going to compete with the powebook 12" as well. Since they all seem to be marketed at students or frequent travelers. How heavy is the alienware new sentia?

i'm sorry. the resolution is only and xga 1024X768, but it can be configured with the new celeron m, which contrary to the name got decent reviews and benchmarks i think either from mobile magazine or laptop magazine.

Ah ok... then that might make it a little harder to find out what notebook it is, as there are several 12inch xga notebooks.

I know. this is going to drive me nuts! that would be a cool second laptop (i wish ) that I may be able to carry in a pocket. it would be great for taking notes in my liberal arts classes to. although i would probably find away to play day of defeat on it.

That notebook can definetely take on HL and its mods... even with that intel integrated junk.

that wold be sweet to play on a tiny screen. although i would like a true competitor to the powermac 12" with 64 mb graphics card. an asus 12" with ati 9700! That would be really sweet and would beg to be bought. But i think it is still a pretty good deal at the price, base around 1000. beat the alienware sentia deal.

That "G3" is made by uniwil. I bought one barebones and it's a nice computer. The 9600 graphics are pretty good. Scored over 9000 on 3dmark2001se with a p4 1.8 and the speakers sound better than the 4 on my battalion 101sc but I wouldn't trade my glossy widescreen for anything.
rakkassan34, where'd you get your Uniwill barebone?
Hmmm, I notice they've added the Raidmax Samurai cases as well... hehe, that's one way to fool people into thinking you've bought an Alienware.

I picked up my uniwill barebone from the refurbished section at newegg
