Capture video from Tivo via S-Video on 8887

I am getting ready to capture shows from my Tivo and would like to do this via S-Video for a better signal. I have an 8887-V. What do I need to purchase to also capture the audio signal as the Tivo unit as the standard RCA outputs for L/R audio. Do I need to buy something like this?

Thanks,

Brian,

If I assume correctly thay you intend to capture video and audio through the S-Video In and line-in ports, respectively, then I would recommend:

1. RCA to S-video connector (female-to-female): http://www.svideotorca.com/rcasvideoff1.html

2. ProAV cable with 3.5 mm (1/8") stereo audio plug: http://store.yahoo.com/videoware/3avw3506.html

3. an S-video cable.

Plug one end of the S-video cable to the S-video In port and the other to the connector. Plug the stereo audio of the ProAV to the line-in port and the corresponding video plug to the other end of the connector and you're done! I do not recommend the RCA to S-video (female-to-male) connector available from the same website as the dongle does not fit well into the S-video In port of the 8887.

How does this differ from my original link? My Tivo has S-Video out and RCA Audio out. I was thinking about going S-Video out from Tivo to S-Video in on my 8887.

My bad ... not familiar with the Tivo . The cable shown in your original link would be ideal.

Went to Radio Shack tonight and spent $22. Works great!
