Help! So I don't have to RMA my 5690

I've had my sager for a little less then a week. Installed XP Pro with all the Microsoft updates, installed drivers..all went well. Now I also ordered a spare 40 gig hard drive for storage. I slid the floppy drive out and the new hard drive in. Well the hard drive is seen by bios. If I right click my c drive, properties, then the hard ware tab. My 40 gig hard drive shows up under hardware. But, Under the My computer icon it doesn't show up. I went back to the drivers cd, and now my cd rom won't let me, for instance, open the manuel or install any drives off the cd. I put the cd in my desktop just to check it and its working fine. Any ideas guys? I really dont want the hassel of having to send it back. Well I shouldn't say hassel, more like a drug addition gone cold turkey

You need to format it using the Disk Management Utility. Right-click on My Computer, click Manage, click Disk Management. You'll see it there.
