I am having trouble getting enlightenment to start for Freebsd 4.5. I can install it (FreeBSD, but getting the enlightenment package seems a tad difficult, as in getting any other gui interface to work. Everything is all text. (not that I have a problem with that, but…)
And In addition, (in Mandrake 9) is there a simple way to get xine working? I checked the site, but it really didnt give a straight forward answer it seems. I simply want to run my DVDs...simple.

On FreeBSD Enlightenment should run without a problem. Does any other window manager runs ? What graphic card are you using ? Paste your /etc/X11/XF86Config-4 and i'll look at it.

Ummm, Dvd playback should work out of the box with the mandrake Xine rpm. Otherwise, you could try looking into :
- mplayer
- totem
- vlc
- ogle

Ogle is my favorite cause it handles the menus like a true home dvd player. The rest is a matter of tastes and colors. I won't argue this here.

Hope that helps.
