Wild Windows XP Pro error

I was reading a few e-mails during a thunderstorm when the power blinked out for a few minutes. Upon restarting my PC, every font, and I mean EVERY system, Internet Explorer, MS Office, etc. font was changed to something resembling Wing-Dings. I've never seen anything like it. I managed to hunt n' click my way to a System Restore and got everything back to normal. Windows flashed a message saying it had recovered from a severe error, but all seems okay. Anyone ever seen this before?

I had that happen to me once. I was using a shell replacement program and somehow it corrupted one of the system fonts and it was all wingdings from there on lol. I just deleted the font and XP Pro automatically restored it...

buy an UPS and a good surge protector, too. It's well worth it, you can use the UPS for years to come.
