I've got the same router. I've never had any problem with it. I added an external antenna, and get full speed up and down stairs. You may have a bad one.

Are you doing a lot of downloading? Some Linksys routers have problems with a lot of bandwidth. The BEFSR41 I used before would need to be restarted after a night of heavy downloading. I have the router your using running 3 comps. 2 wired, 1 wireless. Haven't had any problems so far. The speedbooster only works on the wireless connection. I'm not sure about SP2. I know of people who are running it on "free" copies of Windows XP.

I was just reading, and it seems like the final version of SP2 will validate all Xp keys. The beta doesn't currently do that. Looks like a lot of people are gonna be pissed. Question. I own 2 copies of Windows XP Pro. On both serial number stickers, it says "2 CPU". Does that mean I can install it on 2 computers?

Just read this:

"EVEN THOUGH Microsoft has not yet released service pack 2 for Windows XP, word reaches the INQ that its anti-piracy features have already been cracked open.

Microsoft has claimed that it's introduced features in SP2 which mean that illegal users of stolen or cracked activation codes won't be able to upgrade the OS, which is due for release in August of this year.

However, sources in the community are claiming that there's already a keygen for service pack 2 out in the wild that will bypass the security arrangements."

this was happening to me too gary. but it turned out one of the computers on my network (wired) had a virus, and that was the source of the disconnects. it did it every minute on the minute.

Was the computer doing this before you got the router? I have seen computers with XP on them that will do this. It always ends up being an issue with the network card. Check for updated drivers or try a different card.
