Cannot capture video on 8887-V...receiving errors

I've tried using PowerVCR but whenever I launch it on my 3.06 HT 8887, I get errors. I just tried to record video with TV Studio and received an error when it tries to record. It displays fine but as soon as I hit record, it crashes.

I uninstalled the TV Studio drivers and software before I loaded the latest TV Tuner HT-enabled from the Sager web site. I'm running Windows 2000.

Mario...if only things were that simple. When I remove the driver and reboot, I don't get the Windows New Hardware message. I get a mesage that says "Digital Signature not Found" and it wants to know if it should install the driver "TV WDW Audio Capture (878)". I say yes to this. I then go into your step #5 and run setup on Disk 1 in the Application/AVer TV Studio directory. I'm then told "Please make sure your driver is installed properly."

*** Edited...ok so I went in to the add/remove hardware and told it to update a question marked driver for "Multimedia Device". I then pointed it to the new driver. I then ran setup and got past the TV Studio driver message above.

***Edited 4:30PM Eastern time...will know more later when I connect this to a video source at my house. I also tried to load and run PowerVCR after making these changes, and it still bombs.

Ok so I am now able to record with the AverTV software. Thanks for the help Mario!

Now how can I solve my PowerVCR problem?

Brian, I am not sure about recording with PowerVCR, unfortunately, as I do not have the application myself. I use the equivalent by InterVideo and all works well with it for me.

I had the exactly the same problem.
And exactly the same solution worked.
I had called Sager and they asked me
to update the driver etc from their site.
And it was still crashing. They asked me
to Reload the OS and and before installing
the drivers, update the OS, and then install
the drivers. But before I could do that, I
came across this post and I thought may
be I'll give it a try before going through
the labor of reinstalling. And viola...

It really worked. I can now record the
TV Programs.

Thanks a lot, guys...

This forum is solving all my problems.
I am impressed with y'all...
