did u get a chance to see the LM50 too ??

most branded lappies r a letdown from the pics when u actually see them - lol
IBM being a classic example - IMHO

i'm waiting for the lm50 with the 9700 in it

hmm does the casing feel good tho?
would you say its designed better htan the comapl cl56?
the casing isn't half bad, i think it is plastic though, just painted over aluminum. Feels less rugged than the CL56. Performance-wise the CL56 would smoke the LS50, but should be about the same as the LM50 (after a HD mod). Plus the LM50 is a slightly different chassis than the LS50, so i'm not sure. The LS50 just didn't impress me much, that's all.

i read on a forum someone got 2900 odd 3dmarks on the lm50a (9700 model)

so it cant be that bad, definitely looks better than a compal, and has a screen which is most likely better than the compal

they say the casing is magnesium/carbon fibre - hmmmm........

yeah that's probably for the LM50 then...the LS50 was plastic i think. I doubt the SXGA+ screen is much better for the LM50 though. And you pay a premium for them for sure.

it says its a WVA sxga+/uxga on the lm50a
from what i've read on here the compal definitely is not WVA

i'm thinking if i ever bought a compal i would buy a uxga lcd and replace the stock one
hitches being i'll be stuck with a lcd, not to mention spending $500 more - lol

You care to elaborate who Go-L is and why they sell laptops for 20l?
