1. Power off your unit and open the HD panel on the back of the unit.
2. Flip up the HD to reveal the wi-fi card.
3. Turn the unit so that the Gigabyte label is facing you. You will see 2 antenna posts at the top of the card. The black antenna wire should be connected to the leftmost antenna post. The rightmost antenna post should be empty.
4. Disconnect the wire from the antenna post (it should pop off rather easily) and reconnect it to the rightmost antenna post.
5. Flip the HD back into place.
6. Replace the retaining panel. You may want to use only 2 screws to hold it in place until you're certain that your system's functioning.
7. Start up the laptop and check your signal.

Hope this helps.
Spooky, the wire from the antenna post = grey antenna? So, Black wire connects to leftmost antenna post and Grey wire connectes to rightmost antenna post?

Thanks Spooky. (I have check out the link you provided but the picture is not that clear)

Unholy,
The black wire should be the wifi antenna. The gray wire is probably the Bluetooth antenna. Try swapping both of them and see how it impacts your reception. Worst-case scenario, you swap them back to their original posts with no harm done.

What happen if I don't have bluetooth? I still have the grey wire right? (As I do not plan to get bluetooth, no more money..paint job cost too much..)

I'm getting problems when I'm playing a sound (like an MP3 or a video). All of a sudden, the sound gets distorted and parts of the screen get corrupted; the video becomes a moving blob of colored boxes, or browser buttons seemed to be striped and unreadable.

Some background: I've been playing HL2 on my system without any problems. Then, around 1/10, I started getting stuttering and crashing problems. At first, I attributed it to a HL2 patch that was pushed out (thanks, Steam!). I did some research and saw that the recommended fix was to update my audio drivers. I did so (just so happened to be the same day the 3.69 drivers were released), but HL2 still has problems. I updated my Catalyst drivers to 5.2 (using Mobility Modder) to see if that fixed anything, but it didn't. Ever since then, I've been experiencing the video corruption problem I described above. Frankly, I'm starting to think it's a hardware problem.

Think I'll call HS today and check it out.

Did you give the Omega drivers a shot? I've heard that they work better with mobility chips than the standard ATI Catalysts. Of course, that was a while ago, but the possibility remains.

Think I figured it out... looks like my CrystalCPUID voltages were set a little too low. Once I bumped them back up to normal, the problem disappeared. I then dropped the voltage until I found the lowest good value. Seems to be working now.

Hey Spooky,

After reading this thread I got really excited to buy a Hypersonic Laptop. At first I considered buying an i9300, but I'm not too excited with Dell and their customer service. Now I'm doing a little bit of research to see what kind of notebook I want and what I want inside of it. If I go through Hypersonic I will be getting more bang for my buck if you will. My question to you is, how do you feel about their customer service???
Don't want to answer for Spooky and would be interested to hear how things are going anyways.

For me, I have been having good success with customer service. There are a couple individuals there I deal with exclusively and seems to be the same with the tech support side. I do a lot of communication by email as it is hard for me to just find free time to chat on the phone (depending on time zone). I always end up getting the answers I am looking for whether it is based on products, tech support, etc.

What I would do is call them and talk with them. Tell them you are interested in one of their systems and would like to run them through some scenario questions to see how they handle business. Treat it like you are going to buy a new car. How often does someone just walk up and buy a car without looking into everything. Some of these laptops can cost as much as a used car.

Good luck on your purchase.... and Spookymonster - hows things going with the system?

Customer service has always been kind to me. Granted, I haven't had to deal with them much in the 11 months since I got my AX7. In fact, I haven't talked to them at all since December or January, IIRC. From the look of things over at ResellerRatings.com, things seem to be about the same; long wait times, but still less expensive and (twice as pretty) as most Clevo resellers.

Everything's working fine for my system, Ratmyr. Thanks for asking. I'm debating on upgrading the CPU from the 3400+ to a 3700+ Turion in a few months (give it some more time for the price to drop).

Sorry for the late reply (I only have time to check out these boards about once a week these days).

Thats ok. I have to reallocate my time as well. I am preparing to leave for a field training exercise in a week and then I am moving to the states in August. Lots of things to do before I get back.

Glad to hear the system is going good. I am going after the EX7 upgrade when I get back to the land of overnight.

Does anybody know if we can plug in a 1GB 4200 DDR2 533 MHz SODIMM RAM in an AX7 machine?

I think you can only use 400MHz PC3200 DDR SODIMMS for the AX7

Aye. The manual states DDR 266/333/400 SODIMMs.
So much for my 533 drool. (Wiping drool off). Well, I will have to go with the 400 MHz itself. I will be ordering this machine in a couple of days and then I will post my review and experience as it happens.

So, guys and gals, keep your fingers crossed.

Customer to Tech-Support : Hello Sam, I have been trying to get hold of help from you guys and there has been no response.

TS: Hello Jim, please wait while I pull up your records. Hmm... Well, here it doesn't show any records of your calls at all. What number did you call sir?

C: Well, I just kept hitting this key that said F1/help and no response from you guys.

Just wanted to know one thing about the support options. Which would you guys recommend going with 1 yr, 2 or 3 yr platinum support and why?

How long do you plan on keeping your system up and running for? That should drive your choice. I went with 3 years because I wanted as much protection as possible. This is a major investment and for a little more, I can protect it for 3 years. If I was in the states when I had ordered, I would have ordered the other protection as well.

That aside, if you have other questions, lets post it in the Hypersonic general area (http://www.notebookforums.com/forumdisplay.php?f=161). I don't want to hi-jack Spooky's thread.
