If all the machines are faster out of the door than a sager then they must spend time with each machine to tweak until near perfect, then ship. Depending on rates, I guess the extra price should be paid, if this is done.

So for non Tec who want performance out of the door this is a better solution than the sager (for more money)?
No, you simply pay the extra money to say you got an Alienware. Service and support is laughable at alienware. I think you'll find a number of very dissatisfied users on various boards including resellerratings.com. You'll also be lucky to wait less than a month for a machine to ship. I sent to emails to them about a year ago and I never got a response. So in the end you literally are just paying for the alienware name and that is it.

I don't look at marketing "stratigy". I'm looking at raw facts as I see posted on the net. Raw numbers are not marketing strategy.

Also, if you call a company, you normally have more than one level of "support" but I doubt if you would EVER speak to anyone who actually perform the work on the machines. Unless you saw them at a bar or something! Get real. How would they get to work on the machines if they were busy answering stupid questions over the phone?

Anyway, I'm not posting to this post anymore. You can reply, and I'll read.

Everyone have a nice day.

As per my post above can you at least post this info so I can take a look? thanks.

TheOG, I can see where you get the bit about levels of support, however, it is very nice to speak to even the most "bottom-rung" operator (salesperson or tech support) and know that they KNOW the machines they sell and service.

I have never excused ANY company for having unknowledgable sales and support staff; unfortunately, it seems that more and more places are outsourcing their support, so the first two levels (or more) are just speaking to monkeys reading a knowledge-base provided by the company that sold you your equipment.

I agree, it is moot to discuss this further, as all our opinions have been made and noted. Alienware is not perfect, but there are satisfied customers of theirs, I'm sure (just as there are dissatisfied ones).

Alienware doesn't need to have a person spend time with each machine to customize it. They do this once and then they take a disk image of that hard drive and copy it to every other computer they're going to sell. If you think that paying the outragous price for an alienware clevo laptop as opposed to the cheaper sager clevo laptop is worth it go right ahead.

Here check out this thread for some alienware nightmare stories, than try to find anything remotely similar with pctorque or powernotebooks.

Same here Adam,Van.. all the reviews on the alienware m51 the scores were the same as sagers or worse.

omg alienware m51 scored 13000 in 3dmark2001SE

Acer 7378
Sony 7372
5670 7348
8887 7380
M51 7502

For the premium price your paying for an alienware, one would think they would score higher
