I'm using PowerQuest Drive Image 2002 (version 6) on my sager 8790 and am wanting to create an image (backup) of the Hard Drive. When Drive Image reboots (to DOS), according to Symantec Technical Support the reason it hangs/freezes the laptop after the splash screen is because it sees the CD ROM as a fixed disk (in the BIOS the CD ROM is 'IDE Channel 0 Master'). My previous 'thread' was asking why my Freecom FX-1 External USB CD-RW Drive would not boot as a bootable device. I was going to try and physically remove the CD ROM and see if Drive Image detects the Hard Drive but if I can't boot from a External USB CD-RW Drive then.. what? I'm puzzled what to do now.
