IN game screenshots .

Painkiller and HALO were set @ Maximum details 1024 x 768 .
UT2004 detail settings were set @ Maximum details 1152 x 864

Gameplay on all games was very smooth ..... smooth as silk

Loading might take a while .

I don't want to overclock my GPU.
Since it is already clocked that high>

GPU> 472.50
Memory> 249.75

All picture files are 50 % compressed , so image quality might look a little blury ( i can assure you real life images are very crisp and clear ) .

Dvd screenies ( from the series * 24 first season and Smallville first season ) enclosed for you ..... battery life with dvd's is coming up next.

DVD battery consumption.....

1 hour + 11 minutes. ( with cyberlink dvd player).

My power schemes settings are getting better compared to 4 days ago.

Maybe next time , I can use the battery 45 minutes longer. ( who knows )

I've also read from the laptop manual , that the battery has to drained 2 - 3 times and recharged to a 100 % in order to get longer batter usage.

Does anyone know if the screen on the 4750 is of the Glossy variety like that of teh WSXGA+ screen on the 8790?

great job jet. thanks. i await your pictures of the laptop if possible. ports and stuff. and how long the battery lasts once youve optimized the battery level. what fps you get in halo and ut2004. that battery life sucks as it is though. i may as well get the 4780 if that is how long it lasts. the battery is on with 3 screws right? what is the software you are using on your desktop? that looks sweet. was that battery life with the screen at lowest brightness? thanks again.

also, do you think that the battery level would be any different on yours than on the 4750? did you close every process (not every) except dvd software?

shouldn't be they are the same computer...

the 4780 probably has even worse battery life... dunno why you might switch to that ... plus you should wait for the 4790!

i dont really see an upgrade from the 4780 to the 4790 i can price them on pctorque.com and i do not really see any upgrades except the fact that the tv tuner is an extra 130 usd. adam@pctorque.com said that dvd on 4780 lasted 1hr 17min

1. pictures from my laptop I will post today.

2. at first the battery lasted only 45 minutes. After a couple of tries ... draining battery 2x and recharging again ... the battery lasted up to 1 hour and 11 minutes.

3. Yup, battery is on 3 screws

4.The software you are interested in ... Downloaded it from www.stardock.com

The xp skin ( xp theme ) is called " UNIVERSEMETALDOCK".

5. I haven't switched any programm or processes off
( antivirus, universemetal , stardock , quicktv ,windvd and sound effects were all on)
or in this case didn't the brightness down to save battery life . Everything is set @ Desktop usage ( not battery ).

Not sure if this was discussed before but how often do the fans turn on? And when they do, are they loud? Also, how warm do the handrest and keyboard get? Thanks.

normal usage ....... fans hardly noticable ( cannot hear the fans)
I can type for a long time without feeling uncomfortable.


hardusage...... fans can get loud ( while playing games ) , but still tolerable.
However heat in this case is definately an issue ..... cannot use the laptop on my lap while playing games or watching dvd
