A better question would be.. why does the stock photo have a glass spilling liquid of some sort on the laptop? To display how tough it is?

yeah, i just hate photos like that

Looks like decent specs, other than the processor.

id be curious as to the display quality

if you have a sams club nearby might be worth looking at in person

That thing looks pretty nice. Twinhead is an ODM correct?

One of the better looking 128mb M11's ive seen yet. Metal chassis is nice too. Someone go look at this thing!

I can probably get by Sam's by late this afternoon. There are several of them here. Never wished to buy a membership, since I never needed 5 GALLONS of mayonnaise, but they will let you in to look.
If someone is going sooner to do a "drive-by eval" please post so that I don't go by also. There is no telling if these will actually be in the stores, or just off their website.

This is a pretty impressive machine - was just about to post the ODM link ( http://usa.twinhead.com/PRO/N15RB/ ) and Aikeo beat me to it. I wonder if any other resellers are selling it yet - apparently twinhead sells direct ( according to http://usa.twinhead.com/java-jsp/sales_partner_info.jsp ), but I don't know what prices, etc. - I sent them an email to ask.

I did an item lookup on the Sams website and they dont carry them in any of the stores in Orlando.
I really really like the look of that thing. If someone can get access to the online ordering section, let me know and ill fire off an order. I would just order from Sams, but i would like a bit more than a 1.5 Banias.
wow. wow! w0w!

man i wish twinhead made more P-M laptops, they sound like a Top Notch operation from what i'm reading.

http://usa.twinhead.com/java-jsp/sales_partner_info.jsp

the 20 day eval thing is awesome. plus...

U.S. plant:
Our ISO 9002 approved production facility in Fremont, California has product ready to ship approximately 72 hours from order date. The volume of the pre-built inventory goes up and down based on anticipated component price drops especially those from Intel. Our goal is to be able to offer you a fill ratio of over 90% while at the same time maintaining less than a one week supply of critical price fluctuating components. We pride ourselves in this aspect of the business since we consistently have met our goal.

the only thing that turns me off a little to the n15rb is the thickness, it seems a little big (45% thicker than cl56).
i agree, 6.8 lbs really isn't bad at all. i would like to see pictures of this "ruggedness" first hand though

man i wish there was a sams close by
I called 3 of my local Sam's Clubs. I was told that Item# 955511 is an Internet only purchase, so it appears that the only way you are going to see one of the Sam's units is to order one.
There will be tax on it also.

I emailed sales@twinhead.com and also info@twinhead.com also to ask them if anyone is other than Sam's is carrying them, preferably with a processor faster than a 1.5 Banias. I have not received a reply as of yet.

I really don't like to give money to Walmart/Sam's if possible.

These laptops look cool, I havent found a lot of them

seems to hgave good prices, I havent lok them up on reseller ratings tho, they have a ton of other cool laptops
post #17 of 86
What would concern me about this model (without seeing it) is:
1.) Spill-proof keyboard. I have never seen a spill-proof keyboard that had decent touch (although, this one could be the exception).
2.) SXGA+ 15.1" monitor. I assume that this one could (and probably does) have the gradient issue, like most of the other notebooks with non-IPS 15.1" SXGA+ displays.

Otherwise, it looks like a good deal, even with the 1.5 Banias. You could easily pick up a Dothan 2.0 in 9 months to a year.

Lifetime of 6.79 with 14 total reviews. They DON'T appear to be very solid, but 14 reviews doesn't tell you much, better info would be from forum members who have done business with Euclid (if any).
