Sound issues in IceWM

Thread Starter
I have Mandrake 10 official running on my 5670 and most everything is great. I use the Ice window manager because I like the speed. However, I tend to get a lot of sound problems. When I try to play something it tells me that the soundcard is blocked by another program but I don't have anything else playing sounds. Also I don't have a mixer. What is the soundcard in the 5670? Anyone have any ideas on how to solve this problem? It doesn't happen all the time, and so far I've tried logging out and restarting X, both with no positive results.
Thanks.

It's an AC97 builtin based on the Intel ICH3. If you are running alsa you may may want to see if there are any newer builds for drake. Also check and see if you have either arts or or gnomes sound server running, I forget what it's called. Again if you are using alsa try installing alsa mixer. I just use the kernel drivers and alsa mixer.
