I was running omega's 4.5-just installed ati 4.7 omg! Big difference! Quality on these drivers are the best I've seen. These are keepers for me Until something else comes out that's better

Anyone have try them out who was having video problems with the 4.6's? I've herd a lot of good stuff about the 4.7's, I think i'm going to wait for omega's though.

Omega is usually two weeks after official.

This may be a silly questions, but can you just go ahead and load the catalyst drivers from ati on a notebook with a mobile gpu? I didn't think that was possible...

Ok I have been running the Omega 2.544 with no issues. Tried the 4.6 catalyst and video playback wouldn't work but games would play fine. Tried the 4.7 today and got the same thing with video playback real choppy, games function fine. I'd like to know if a fresh install with these drivers makes a difference for any one?

It's possible when using Mobility Modder. It adds info to some INFs to make them work on Mobility Radeons. Get it here:

Freejack - same problem here. Reverted back to the 4.5 ... Probably going to rebuild my machine as soon as XP SP2 is officially released. I think a clean install is needed.

Hmm... good to know that i'm not the only one with video playback problems. DVD's are fine, but any avi's are really choppy and can't keep up with the sound. They run fine if I turn hardware acceleration down, but then they look like crap. I'm just going to wait for the omegas.

Okay then, guess I won't be loading the 4.7 drivers. I had the video problem with the 4.6 drivers also. Looks like it's not fixed yet.

I'll be looking into the video playback after work. I haven't tried any dvd or avi's. Will report back later

Yes- same thing here with the lag on dvd. I did unchecked hardware acceleration in direct X & it stopped the problem but why are they letting this bug continue? 4.6 & 4.7 both have this bug. Maybe 4.8 will have a permanent fix

Just a "me too" - video lag unless DirectX acceleration turned off. Sager 8890, ATI 9600.

Search around these forums. You can also install them manually, look around you should be able to find an explanation. Your other option is Mobility Modde that Sharakkhal mentioned, or wait for Omega's.

The problem with them not working on mobile gpu's is realy the installer, not the actual drivers.

WORKS for me, no adjustments. Omega 4.6s, InterVideo WinDVD4, MI2 dvd movie, no prob. Far Cry is playing better than ever. I am TOTALLY addicted to Far Cry multiplayer. DARN those 8887s!!

i just installed the drivers via the modding method and it still tells me that the driver is the same version as updated 12/12/2003. huh?
