I was just checking threw my device manager, and relised that i have somthing that a driver is missing for. It wasnt on any of the disks that came with my laptop, so I came here for help. I'm looking for a driver for "SM Bus Controller". I know it wasnt always missing, but have no idea where it wen. So If anyone knows where i can get a new driver for it, it would be much aprecated.

Did you install your chipset drivers? SM Bus Controller is part of the chipset. Get out your disk and reinstall those.

That is what I thougt it was, but the driver eather wasnt on the disk, of for some reason it is not reconizing it. I would guess the second reason, because this is occuring after a recent reformat, which I have done befor with no missing drivers.

Hmmm...did you install them in the order listed in the manual? I don't see why it wouldn't recognize them...the way I always do it is install XP, install lan drivers to retrieve SP 1, uninstall lan drivers, then install drivers in the order in the manual (starting with chipset).

Just pick your chip under "chipsets" and then your "OS". Then you will need to downlaod the "INF Update Utility [INFINST.EXE]". I had the same problem with my T40.
