Does the Acer ferrari 3200 screen same as

the Acer Travelmate 8003. They look to have similar spec's and sizes. I hear bad things about the travelmate screen is the Ferrari's the same. Just wanted to know. Thanks

The brightness of the Ferrari 3200 is really nice. But the contrast ratio sucks IMHO. Even the blacks look grey. Also, you can't sit in front of the screen to close or the colors don't vertically look uniform. All in all, it's damn nice screen. Just not desktop quality you would expect. Though, the pixel response time is good enough to play FPS games. And why not? You have a ATI 9700 and AMD64 2800 chip to boot as well. heh

Acer use the same 15" SXGA screens on all their ranges.

I think to be honest over the last couple of months the negative of the SXGA+ screens has been exaggerated.

It has been known since they were launched the quality of viewing angles etc. has never been as good as SXGA or XGA or WUXGA.

Dont let it put you off and if screen quality is paramount go for a laptop with a non sxga+ screen.
