I finally stopped talking and finally ordered my laptop. Well, it's in parts coming from 3 different vendors, but I'm not paying any shipping.

Here's what I got coming:

From RJTech:
Compal CL56 BB with Intel Pro/Wireless 2200BG: $919

From Newegg:
512MB Kingmax PC2700 CL2 RAM and Dothan 1.7GHz: $398

From ZipZoomFly: Liteon 24x24x24x8 DVD Combo and Hitachi 60GB 7200RPM drive: $274.99

Grand total is: $1592.49 shipped.

I figured after I blew money on my wife's jewelry for our anniversary, might as well get it all.

Super

Yes, it's the same one that's listed on the Compal parts thread that Rincewind posted.

If it doesn't work out for you, return that puppy (newegg is the best) and get Richard at RJTech to send you one. I think he has em for $105 if I recall correctly.
It was an official part listed on Rincewind's Compal parts list, so it should be ok.

Richard said I needed a frame to install it. Do you know anything about that?
