ATA-6 VS ATA100 ???? - Hitachi/IBM 60GB 7200RPM Notebook Hard Drive

I have a Dell Inspiron 8600 and wish to buy a Hitachi/IBM 60GB 7200RPM Notebook Hard Drive, but there are two types ...

Interface: ATA-6 http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduc...146-020&depa=3

Interface: IDE ULTRA ATA100 http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduc...146-034&depa=3

What's the Difference ?

All of the current i8600's ship with ata100 HD - do i need to buy ata100 or will ata6 work ?

ATA-6 is 100 i think. Doesn't really matter, the drive will work as a 100 even if it's hooked up to a 133 chain. Theres no real world difference between ATA100 and ATA133 because your drive can't move data that fast.
ATA Mode 6 is either 100 or 133.

ATA-6 / ATA/ATAPI-6

ATA-6 is a standard approved by ANSI in 2001 under document NCITS 347-2001. ATA-6 added support for Ultra-DMA/100, and had a transfer rate of up to 100MBps.
