I'm having re-occuring HD / operating system issues with my Dell 5150.
The first time it occured caused Windows not to boot normally. Using CHKDSK /F fixed the boot index sector area (if I remember properly) of the disk. I call Dell support about it but they told me the problem is fixed (as long as I can boot then things should be fine). I asked why this would occur and
never got a straight answer.
Now I notice that sometimes it boots fine other times it seems like it did but some programs that are suppose to be loaded on startup don't get loaded. Sometimes my windows explorer just freezes.
I'm really reluctant to call Dell support since I spent 2hrs on the phone and didn't get any useful information from them. I guess if my Notebook boots then it works good enough for them since they don't want me to send in my hardware to be checked.
Has anyone else had similar HD problems?
Any success at getting resolution from Dell support?
thanks
Peter
