Hi Guys

I just purchased an Intel 2200bg wifi card from newegg,
I removed the keybard and metal plate, installed card per sager manual,
I cliped on the internal ant wires, long on main, short on aux,
but no signal, I tried every posible wire atachment,
long on aux, short alone, long alone, you get the picture,
the software says hardware radio not on,

I get no signal at all,
I have a dell C840, so I install the card,
install drivers, works like a charm, put it back in the 5680,
again nothing, any ideas, I spent half today farting around with this Turd !

I did not purchase the sager originaly with wifi,
is there a wifi radio on off switch,

Oh windows XP sees the card, drivers and aplication load,
also I downloaded the newest drivers and software same thing.

am i not doing something right.

help .............................please..................................!!!!!!!!

On my 8790 there is a Function+F11 to power up/down the Wifi. Di you have the 5680 manual?

thats odd, the same card works great on my 5670

r the wires connected properly ?? - i know they kept popping out until i pressed down really hard

go to the device manager tab and for the 2200 card select the properties->advanced tab, it has a checkbox for toggling wireless radio

Mobile chipset

Sid

Do you have a mobile chipset, on the 5670 ?
I am having people tell me the card only works with mobile chipsets,

But that seems a little odd.

As for the properties, I dont have a radio on off in the advanced menue,
just what power level, and infrastucture vs ad-hoc,

what driver are you using ?

thanks for the input.

Working

Sid

I did have the radio on off setting, I messed with it for an hour yesterday,
the box was unchecked, you check the box to turn radio off,

Every time I unchecked the box it would say this setting will only take effect after the adapters power button has been turned on, I would enable, disable,
and nothing would happen,
so I turned the radio off, and rebooted,
then turned the radio on and rebooted,
this made it work !

I don't know why, but there you have it.

Thanks for the input, it made me wonder about the radio on off,
and lead to this thing now working,

Now I will cancel my order for the other wireless card I just ordered

Thanks
Turd
