Movie does not Play on TV thru S-Video...

I hooked my emachines M-6805 to my TV with its S-video output, and all looks good . The Display on the computer shows up on the TV screen as it should.

The problem that I have, is that I want to play a movie through the computer to display it on the TV screen. The movie plays on the computer using WinDVD 6 just fine, but within the Software display of WinDVD6 displayed on the TV screen, only a purple block shows up where the movie display should be.

What do I have to do to configure this to work, or do I need some sort of plugin?

Most Win video players use an overlay mode to put the vid on the PC screen. The S-Video out does not show the overlay. Solution? Configure Win DVD to not use accelerated or overlay vid modes. I haven't used Win DVD but Power DVD has that option on the Cofig-> Video Tab.

Thanks olyteddy for your reply. I finally found a soloution by doing google searches. It was very simple, but I did not realize that both the Laptop screen and the TV screen could not be enabled at the same time. I disabled the laptop screen and it played with no problem...........
