Performance comparisons of the 1.8 to the 2.0 in CL56

Is there much of a performance difference between the 1.8 Dothan and the 2.0 in the CL56? Is it enough of a difference to justify the price increase?

no, no.

it's a bit overpriced to get 2.0 right now, which is why you'll see a lot of people sticking with 1.7 dothan in their systems

benches with the 735, 745, and 755:

Those gaming benchmarks also really prove that the bottleneck in gaming is the m11, not the cpu, which means if ur goin for a gaming laptop, you may as well go pentium m. Smaller, cooler, longer batt life, and about the same price as a p-4 or athlon64 at basically the same gaming performance.

I liked the conclusion (rephrased): "Although Pentium-M sucked in every test, it is the best choice you could get".

1.7 (dothan) is probably the best bang for your buck at the moment. I went with the 1.8 though. your choice

i think that was definitely expected tho... as they were comparing mobile chip to desktop chips... and in the trade off of weight, size, battery life vs power, they took less weight, small, and longer battery life over the additional power which they mentioned was not too much

the "rephrased" conclusion would be better like this:
"Although Pentium-M sucked in every test, it is the best choice you could get in a laptop"

I thought "in a laptop" was implied.
