hmmm... keep the NEW $108 Logitech Z-2200s that are comming on monday... or get $75 OPEN BOX, Klipsch Promedia THX 2.1s that will probably take another week...?
AnyManDell, just so you know, you will not have any warranty on those speakers, new or used. The warranty only applies to authorized dealers of Klipsch speakers, which doesn't include eBay.

For that price... I'm not too concerned about that. If these bust in a year, then I might invest in a real pair. But for $40 I'm willing to risk it.

just found this out on their forums, this'll make you a bit happy. for a flat $40 charge, they will service (99% of time replace) you speakers if you don't have a warranty.

you might wanna make your own speaker cables too. the one's that come with it are good, but not great. you'll notice that you can tell the bass is more localized to the sub. with these custom cables, it makes it sound much more smooth, and less hiss. Here's a link

is it possible to plug your notebook into your stereo system?
yes, it's easy. if your stereo has a stereo mini-jack plug (aka headphone regular plug), just get a double sided cord. if not, youll need to find a method to convert from stero-mini-jack to rca (red and white), which shouldnt be too hard to do.
Radio Shack will have the converter. They will rip you off though.

apple has one, but $50 CDN is quite expensive I think for a converter

anyone know a cheaper one?

I have one around here some where. I used to run a portable cd player into my stereo many years ago.

It was only a couple of bucks.

Radio Shack should have the microphone-jack to RCA converter for about $5-$10.

that price isn't too shabby... better than the $50 i was afraid i would have had to pay

got the Z-2200s today. At first they sounded a bit ...eh...
But then i let them play for a couple hours, and i also switched the equilizer from flat to rock, and WOW... they are seriously amazing. I gotta say though, the power is seriously overkill. I have it turned up to about 5% power, and its still loud as hell.

Increadibly deep, and true bass. Delicous

Pictures Please

When you get a chance could you post some pictures of them? If not that's cool, just curious to see what they look like in unaltered pics.

sure thing, either tonite or tmmrw. IMHO they look MUCH better without the speaker covers. and btw, the sub is HUGE!!!
yeah well.....considering 1/5 of the sub is a heatsink......
