It would be black, then slowly bars of different colors will come up from the bottom right of the screen. These bars would mostly be white, and the bars would go until they reatch the whole screen, and the screen turns mainly white with a few other colors mixed in. Sad news i believe that would be your motherboard taking a big dive. Happened to my IBM laptop, same problem with my friends mac, it was his motherboard too. Hope it's still under warrenty.

MonkeyFace I think Artz just got the laptop.
That doesn't mean the motherboard wasn't defective from the start
It could be something else, I'm just speaking from experience, I am by far no computer expert so really i don't know. Just saying it happened to me and it was my motherboard

Well Alienware Reps Should Think About Learning About The Sentia Before Being Authorized To Give Tech Support For It!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I Worked For Three Days On The Phone And They Want Me To Download The Other Version Of The Bios. Wtf!!!!!!!!!!! I Called Right Back And Yelled My Lungs Out And They Will Be Happy To Let Me Send My Laptop In!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This Pisses Me Off Knowing I Treated This Laptop As A King For The 4 Hours I Used It And This $3,000 Dollar Laptop Has Broken Down Onme. I May Return It!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I got the report back...they think its the wireless card, so i need to wait 3 weeks b4 i get it.....Im getting closer to my decision of returning...If i return, do i need to pay that restoking fee even though they dont sell the older sentia (thats the one i have)?
I would imagine there would be a restocking fee still.

I work for a cellular service provider and I see this kind of stuff happen every day. When dealing with anything electronic (especially modular systems such as a computer), there is always the possibility of getting the lemon. Think of how many they make and then how many people it happens to. I don't think it happens too much but DAMN, it sucks when it happens to yourself!

3 weeks for a standard wireless card! And this is what they call AWARD WINNING SERVICE?
Yeah that really does suck!
