jojo, why in the world are you in this forum asking about is a Compaq model worth it? Additionally, you haven't mentioned how much you are paying for it nor what you want to use it for. Compaq notebooks are fine for many things and the prices are competitive with other brands. If you're paying the same thing that anyone else is, you're not being ripped off.

That statement should read, Oh, I'm sorry about the price. I just forgot; it's $1200. Sonicwind, I just want to know if there was something cheaper for the same specifications.

Jojo82 if you actually listened during English class we wouldn't have this problem, now would we?

Thats not a bad price, but why are you asking on the sager forums? There is a general notebook forum here. You'd get a much better opinion there. Also if your just trying to compare it to other computers can't you do that yourself?

jojo,

What is your native language? I'll bet it isn't English. How long have you been in the USA?

i was born in the us but, i typy like anyother 16 year old would on the internet we type words the way they sound
my parents are indian though

jojo,

Not to be mean or sound that way, I believe that someone, or maybe just yourself, has led you to believe something that is just not true. Most 16 year olds type and communicate much better. Your posts are less readable then those of my 12 year old nephew. I would look into getting help with your language skills before it is too late.
It will be real tough getting any sort of decent job if you filled out an application in the same manner.

Take care.

G-Omaha obviously doesn't spend any time at places where teenagers hang out...it's such a shame, even 20 year olds type like that.

Just go look at almost any random Livejournal or Xanga blog... what's strange is, a lot of the REALLY bad typists, and people who use "netspeak" are girls.

I can see both sides of the argument. Yes, a bunch of people use netspeak or whatever it's called. But it does seem to be prominent amongst younger teens and people with generally less than average communication skills. I completely agree with G-Omaha in that it's a terrible habbit to get into as the corporate world will laugh you out of the office if they see something like that, and whilst you may only be 14 or 15, it's the type of habbit that will stick with you. And I guarantee it'll be harder to break the habbit than it is to prevent it.

Personally, I find it annoying having to sit and decipher someone's post. I often find myself simply getting fed up and refusing to read the whole post.

So in short, learn how to use whole words, spelled correctly and everything, and also how to use punctuation and spaces for goodness sake.

EDIT: I found the quote I was looking for. Made me chuckle.

First of all i'm 20 and I don't know anyone whos 16-20 who types that bad. Its not about typing the way you talk, i've got no problem with that, its about typing so people don't have to sit there and re-read your post multiple times just so they can translate what your typing. Spelling things incorrectly, or having a million typo's has nothing to do with typing the way you speak, it's just lazyness.

EDIT: Also you have to remember you are the one asking for help, if you want people to help you make it easier on them.

I hire and fire. I sort through clients and providers. Poor language skills guarantees "no entrance" or a quick trip to the "exit". There are only 24 hours in a day and I have to work 25 [I'm sure you know what I mean.] Anything that slows the boat down gets chucked overboard.

Pyrobob,
You misspelled "habit" three times. Your spelling was "habbit." Perhaps it'd be best to think twice before chiding other people about spelling.

Dude it's a simple spelling mistake, that doesn't even take a second thought to figure out.
