7 in 1 reader drivers

Does anyone know if there are new or updated drivers for the 7 in 1 card reader?

Reason I ask is I used mine for the first time today (using a cf card from my digital camera) and some of the pictures could not be viewed and the card ended up being "unreadable" when I removed the card (using the "safely remove mass media" icon in the system tray) and then re-inserted it...I lost a all the pictures on the card

btw I have the sager 8790-v....thanks

That's just downright scary. I've used mine once, but didn't have any problems (I hope). I don't think that there is a separate driver set for the media readers. I believe that the drivers are part of the O/S installation.

Did you put the card back in the camera to see if you can read them, as they may not have been erased or corrupted, but for some reason can't be viewed by windows? If you have a transfer cable for the camera, try transferring the images to your computer to see if they can be viewed. How did you save your pictures when you took them, jpeg, bmp, tiff? Is it possible they were saved in a format that is not recognized by windows?

Yep, I put the card back into the camera and the camera come up with a "cf card error"...that's when I know some thing was really wrong. The camera saves the pics as jpegs and before I received the sager I had one of those usb reader/writer gizmos that worked great...never a problem. I then put the card back in the 7in1 reader and it came up with "drive not ready" and or "disk not formatted". I even went back and tried the old gizmo...the computer found it but couldn't read the card.....dang

Capt. don't know if this makes a difference but their are 2 types of compact flash cards, Type I and Type II. The 7 in 1 reader is listed as handling CF cards, but not sure if its one or the other or both. I haven't any issues reading compact flash cards in my 8790, I wonder if you might try a XP repair with the recovery CD. I would doubt that windows would corrupt the pictures or your CF card, so I would think your pictures are still recoverable.

It is possible that you have a bad compact flash card as well.
