2025 which I just got yesterday, no dead pixels for me.

I have 2 dead pixels on my 2012wlci.
1 which is bright red and very noticeable on mostly every background colour, 2 inches up and 1 inch from the left. Another that is not so noticeable, seems to appear on mostly brown, grey & blue backgrounds where it appears as a white dot, about 3 inches up and 2 inches from the right.

It has been like this from brand new and considering I do a lot of photoshop work, it is HIGHLY annoying. Almost as annoying as Acers "3 dead pixels" policy !!!!

What really annoys me about this is that I can go and spend £60 on a 17" CRT monitor for my desktop and instantly return it if there are any non-working pixels. I spend £1100 on a laptop, a futher £99 on Acer's extended warranty, and I cant return it for 2 dead pixels !!!! Its a faulty product and as such I should be legally entitled to return it for a replacement !

slinger, I'm not sure if it applies in the UK, but Ferrari3200 mentioned that Acer may have changed their policy.

Also, in the UK you are legally entitled to return a product for a refund (not including postage fees) for any reason at all within 7 days from the date of reciept. This applies to all goods purchased from the TV, mail-order or online and is called the Distance Selling Act (of 2000 I think)

I've had it nearly 2 months now

This is what is on the Acer UK website support page:

The Limited Warranty does not extend to minor defects of LCD displays
occurring in Products equipped with LCD display technology provided that
there shall not be more than four (4) defective pixels per million pixels on
a given LCD Display, and provided further that, if the display panel is divided into nine (9) equal rectangular areas, there shall be one defective pixel in the central area of the display.

slinger, it might still be worth contacting Acer by email or phone just in case they have modified their policy and have not yet updated the site. (It's a long shot, but it does happen from time to time)
