I boxed up my Sentia today to send it back to Alienware. There's a few things wrong with it including;

-Some keys don't work
-LCD Hinges are becoming somewhat loose
-PCMCIA Slot ejector button is stuck out
-Front center footpad is gone
-Some of the labels on the bottom are rubbing off
-The Alien Head is starting to get somewhat scratched up

I'm not sure about the Alien Head being covered under the waranty, but if it is and they can replace it, that'd be good. Has anyone else had any of these problems? Anyhow, wish my laptop some luck on it's journey back to AW.

i just got mine back from alienware...

it was a wierd turn of events though.
they had it for a long time, nearly 6 weeks, and i wasn't sure what was going on. i e-mailed them to ask a couple questions, and they said my motherboard needed to be replaced. i asked when it would come back, and they didn't let me know.

THEN (this is the strangest thing) i recieved a phone call AT MY HOUSE about my computer. my dad picked up (heading off to college this fall... whatever) and talked to them pretending he was me, saying he was really unhappy with this, and they told him the motherboard would take an additional week+ to arrive. he said he wasn't happy, didn't like this, etc. etc. and i got an e-mail that night that said "we've shipped your laptop"
i got it back just the other day, been checking it out, and it appears the motherboard is (yes in fact) new. i'm amazed.

sorry if they took it out of your new system and that's why it's been taking so long...

yer alien head is scratched because everytime you flip over your sentia (change battery..ect) your sentia moved around a bit and bam! a freakin ugly scratch!

mine looks like it's been in war. =/

Well mine isn't like that because of changing the battery, it's being in the AW backpack. I mean these aren't deep scratches, and unless you look at it up close and at the right angle, you can't see them, but it still bothers me that they're there.

I also had to send my SENTIA back. WOW. That is a LOT of problems with the SENTIA. I sent mine back because the latch on the case just fell off. I went to open it up one day and it was no where to be found. I had to open it with a toothpick.

Yeah, I was surprised that all this stuff has gone wrong with it. I mean, I've always taken really good care of all my computer stuff. Who knows, maybe just a bit of bad luck? By the way, is there any way to check your RMA status on the Alienware site?
