Just a question about hypersonic.

Is hypersonic-pc worth the extra cash, or should I just go with something like discountlap*tops or powernotebooks?
Well, I did a lot of research, and this is ONLY my opinion... but I had it narrowed down to Voodoo, Hypersonic, Alienware, and Falcon NW... After weeks of deliberation, I settled on Hypersonic. I ordered the GX7. Two of them actually, since my girlfriend is a gamer and also wanted one. I'm not sure what your budget is, and these companies are NOT cheap.. but hey, that's what I went with. Sorry if this doesn't help.

Good luck with your decision.

Another question 1.8 over 1.7 is there much of a difference? Any difference I can notice?
you will not be able to notice any difference except in benchmarks.

edit: oh yeah and price

well, I am still debating the CL56 and the Sager 4750, they are really close in price range, I don't mind the weight so much, or the battery life. Scratches head I dunno.
if you don't mind weight or battery life, get the sager 4750 when it comes out.

let me rephrase that..when it becomes widely available

Powernotebooks doesn't warranty their systems; they default to the manufacturer's warranty, which (in this case) is Sager.

The Sager warranty:
- offers a 30-day satisfaction guarantee with 100% refund (not including shipping or opened software).
- in the first 30 days, if you have to ship anything back to them, you pay for shipping to Sager, and they'll pay 2-day shipping back to you.
- for the remainder of the year, you still pay shipping to Sager, but they'll pay for ground shipping back to you.
- requires 6 or more defective pixels before replacing an LCD screen.
- is not transferrable (i.e, the warranty only covers the unit while you own it)

The Hypersonic Warranty:
- offers a 30-day satisfaction guarantee with 100% refund (not including shipping or opened software).
- pays 1-day air shipping both ways for first 30 days.
- pays 2-day air shipping both ways for first 31-90 days.
- pays 2-3 day shipping both ways for the remainder of the first year.
- requires no more than 2 defective pixels to qualify for return.
- will do cross-ship replacements (i.e., they'll ship the replacement part out before they've received the broken part). You must have a credit card to qualify.
- is transferrable (you can sell the unit to someone else and HS will still honor the warranty)

Make your own conclusions as to which is the better warranty.

Terms may be different for customers outside the continental US.

Hehe took me a while to find one that wasn't only into Crash Bandicoot.

It's a great thing when we go to EB or Gamespot and she's got two good games in her arms before I even grab one off the shelf!

I gotta get her on that girl gamer show on G4, heh.

...and believe it or not guys, she's pretty hot!

(only took me 30 years...)

well, after what Spookymonster said, hypersonic's warrenty sounds much much better, but damn the wait time sounds horrbible, I don't want to wait 48 days like Superfrappe did. Does it take less time if you don't get a paint job?
that's correct.

LOL, nah I'm definately not rich. I make a decent living, and I'll be paying them off until the end of the year without a doubt.

Also, to answer your other question. Yes, the paintjobs DO add on another 1-2 weeks, so I've learned.

I'll be posting pics of both of them and a full review. I'm interested to see if they are exactly the same paint finishes, since both are the omniscient metallic red w/ the same exact specs.

I would spend the extra few bucks for the OS, and get the restore DVD. Notebook drivers are harder to come across and can give more problems than with desktop's. That Revovery DVD is an extra level of security.
