all you people getting a tv tuner. i just don't see the real use of it. not very good quality for $75. i guess if you record a lot tivo it's worth it. i think i'm just gonna make my roomate split the cost of a cheap tv to play xbox on (halo 2, hell ya). besides, i wanna do stuff on my lappy while watching tv so a tv tuner eliminates such multitasking. same goes with bluetooth, not gettin it. ~$150 for a good BT mouse and internal BT isn't worth not having wires. plus i don't like the idea of having to charge it every week or so. i could forget and have to be without a mouse for a bit while it charges. i guess if you are given options you immediately think you'll need them. i know i sound cheap, but that's because i am. i am getting the targus backpack tho, it seems like the only quality pack that can hold 17" lappies. anyone know of any others?
sent in a money order hopefully it'll reach by monday ... got expediated shiping..next day not sure when i'll get it by..maybe the 20th..maybe 21st..was gonna use credit card but since im from CANADA they dont accept mine so i sent the money order we'll see what happens when they get it and how fast it comes i got it sent down to relatives in michigan gonna go there on the day that they say it'll arrive and pick it up hopefully it'll arrive ON TIME
i'm probably going to get a tv tuner, not because i need it but just because i want to be able to brag about it, it might increase the resale value of the lappy, and i want to try playing my xbox on such a lovely high-res screen.
I will be getting, the amd 3400, with 80 gig 5400 rpm hd, 3 year phillips warranty, 4x dvd burner, the targus deluxe backpack (blue i hope), and wireless router. i still have to buy like 1200 worth of software though. and an external harddrive for video work.
yep. that't the student discounted software too. i may need to get more in the future. maya, photoshop, and student version of office. eventually i might get toonboom studio or tab, and a wacom tablet.
lol what's eMule, another one of those questionably legal program acquisition devices? and maya you could just buy a regular IDE hard drive and put it in an enclosure, it'll save you lots and lots and lots.
Still waiting patiently. I kinda hoped to see it by Saturday, but I should have known better. Don't know what I'm gonna do with my weekend now. Kinda wish they would have made an announcement or something on Thursday so at least I knew my order was somewhere, doing something. Havn't heard from em since they took my money.
It only bothers me because when I bought it from PCTorque's website, I had no idea that it wasn't even being released until the 15'th. I thought I'd get it within a few days, then I checked these forums and found out I'd have to wait.
All of my work is with blender so far. I have fooled around with maya ple, but I really need 1 gig to run it properly. that's what the laptops for. i should have some models done by next year though. maybe a few animations as well. i am self taught so far, but i will be learning it extenstively next semester.
I took a guick venture into 3D Modeling with Blender. And I made some things I was proud of but I eventually found out I really wasnt interested in 3D Model Development. But could you show us some examples!? I really want to see !
