upgrading acer 1711

hi everybody,

I've been searching the forum and reading everybody's advice. Thanks to these forums, I've decided to get the Acer 1711 and I'm wondering if it's possible / advisable to change the P4 CPU with a Pentium M Dothan CPU? Has anybody done this? I like all the options of the 1711 but I'm hoping to extend battery life a little with the Pentium M.

....I'm pretty sure this is not possible because they're running on different chipsets.

edit: and nobody buys the 1711 for battery life, let me tell you that

thanks for the reply. yeah, I've been searching all day online and I think you're right. the chipset that comes with this notebook won't take a pentium m.

I'm not too concerned about battery life, just hoping to make a few tweaks here and there to get that little bit extra.
