Un bloody likely! Id Software CEO said that retailers aren't allowed to PICK UP their copies of DooM 3 until 1 minute after midnight on August 3rd, with the official release date being the 5th. Some stores will let you get it earlier (on the third?) Id said.

It's finally coming out! Woohoo! Hopefully by the time i finish playing it HL2 will be out. Then I'll wait for Doom 4 and when i beat that i'm sure by then Duke Nukem Forever will finally be shipping!

Dude.. don't even worry about pirated versions of D3... if a game is good enough, buy it.

This is not to say I'm anti-piracy.. just that some games I am going to buy.

Like Doom 3, HL2, and Halo 2.

that's not the point man, the point is the pirated versions will be out earlier...once the game comes out i'll buy it, but if the pirated versions come out early, that's awesome

OK.. in that situation I understand... nevermind me.. =)

I'll have to do that too... unfortunately I have 2/3 warnings from my ISP pending about copyright infringement. Damn Patriot Media to hell.

go to a starbucks and bypass your ISP, they'll take the hit for the copyright infringement while you whistle innocently from the sidelines.

I've already pre-ordered my copy of DooM 3 from Futureshop.

Cost is 69.99$ canadian (~49.99$ US) and I get the pre-order bonus pack too.

That said, if it comes out on the net before my copy arrives...

If the game turns out good i will probably buy it. Last game i bought was diablo 2 lod. I just wish a dvd version is coming out, but so far no luck on it.

i tried to pirate hitman 2 ( ) but it turned out that the file was corrupt after 3 hours of downloading. ah well, i guess piracy is kinda like broadband and not automatically exiting popups when they come up, once you try it for a while it you can never go without it.

that's so dumb that it's actually funny. no offense man but that pegs the dumb meter at 11, i have gone from 640x480 to 1024x768 in a game and the only difference is that the HUD was smaller. besides, it's more out of the way if it's smaller so thats better IMO.

how da hell does yr ISP know what you downloaded??? man, if they are snooping yr stuff,, id bail on them if you could,,, that aint right man...
what i do anymore, is get online via a hotspot, at some place, get a prepaid card and no one really knows who you is,,,, long as you dont check your email via one of those hotspots,, its very hard to track you down...

i met some tech guy at compusa and when he found that his ISP was trying to put spyware on his system, he sent them a system bug (it told them to stop using thier spyware in popup form, then shut their system down for a while) and took the case to court. pretty impressive huh?
