Yeah, it should run fine on the 5700 or 9700, even the 9600, but I dno if it will run as smooth on the 5600. We'll have to wait and see . I'm gonna install it on my desktop, and apparently, the 6800 is the only card that can run the Unreal 3 engine (with 20 - 35 fps) decently, so I should have no problems with Doom 3

Still, I prob. wont get my lappy back until mid-august, so u guys tell me how it runs.

Aww crap, I got a 1.6 Ghz Athlon XP on this system.... will that be a problem?
The 5600 may run Doom 3 even better than the 9600 because it is OpenGL.

Hey guys, dying to see how Doom 3 will run on your computer? Get a taste over here: Doom 3 post .

I'm dying to see this game in action. I even have funny stories regarding it. My brother went and bought himself a bunch of stuff to make a PC (which we built last night) just so he can play doom3.

P4 3ghz
1 gb ram
radeon 9800 pro

those are the most important specs. the funniest part is that he didn't have to pay for any of it. thank god for business write-offs!!

It looks like many people are buying hardware specifically because of the upcoming anticipated PC game releases. Have we ever seen such a sight on the large scale?

Even Maximum PC had put out an article on how much each current video card can handle of HL2. Alot of ATi video cards have a free HL2 voucher.

Personally for me, perhaps it was my Area51m - but I can say its not the sole reason, but one of those side-reasons. That was way back when the release date was Sept 2003 [almost a year ago]!

These upcoming videogames must be great for the economy...

And thank god it's happening. It's giving me even more ways to justify going into the gaming industry.

Just pre-ordered a copy at EB for $5.00 down. They told me it'll be out on 8/4.

Definitely medium settings no problem. Here's an excerpt from PC Gamer:

"Doom 3 automatically chooses the best options to use and run well, and someone with a 128MB (or even a 64MB) video card will get great visuals and good performance right out of the box."

"512MB RAM is ideal , and if you're trying to run the game in Ultra Quality, you'll want 1GB or more."

Halo 2 is going to be huge for the XBOX. I'm pre-ordering it at Ecost.com for $39.00 with free shipping.

Pre-ordered Doom 3 after reading the hands on in PC Gamer. They were very impressed and the screenshots look amazing. I predict a score in the low to mid 90's when the actual review comes out.
