So would that be a portable theft provoking device?

I don't even think I like the design.. let alone the fact that it has nothing special in terms of features. For 20k it better play DVDs, control my car, and come with a built-in parachute for emergencies.

I find that Verizon is the best (for me at least) in newengland. i tryed sprint once but there cervice was tarible and their costimer service was down right awfull they had no idea what they where talking about and they tryed to bill me after i returnd the phone becasue it didn't work. Verizon is much clearer and works grate.

i have never used a nextell but it seams pretty cool to me. and their deals dont seam to bad. i think there a little more pricey but for good cervice i would pay for it

It's tough I agree. I used to work for and for the most part stuck with Nextel for most of the people at PCTorque. Troy is now running the Nokia 9290 and I like the features of the phone, but it's like a big brick. I've been lately using the i85 from Nextel, but need good internet to watch the Sagerforums when I'm away =). I had been looking at:

Kyocera 7135

Nokia 6800 (too small of LCD)

Nokia 9290 (like Troy likes, but it's kind of too bulky to be taking to the movies with you)

So, I went to Verizon to check out the Kyocera and it wasn't able to display sagerforums.com... cross it out!

I then went to Sprint and they showed me the
Toshiba 2032
It was nice with Windows, but for calling, it had speaker phone or external headset only. It was able to access the sagerforums, but the links to read posts often failed. Plus the links were hard to read.

They then showed me the Samsung i330 which brought up the Sagerforums quickly and clearly with what I felt was an easy to use Palm OS interface. I didn't like that it was exposed (LCD and front buttons), but was willing to settle. The guy said they were sold out of them and didn't think they would get any more in. He said he thought the new Samsung i500 was to replace it which they were expecting any day.

So, right now I have my name on a list for the i500 and am looking up whatever info I can find.

I have been using the Nextel M1100 for wireless internet through a Sager laptop which is just too big for work in tight places such as in a store or at the movies.

So, as of right now the best phone LCD I've seen for websurfing is the Nokia 9290 because of how wide the LCD is. The Windows CE systems have some nice application features, but may be buggy with limitations. It has got to be something I can throw in my pocket and surf the web.

I dunno about that IG - I have this especially cute teddy bear and I prefer it to alllll the gadgets in the world...

But no seriously...

Can a tri-band phone work over a dual-band network ? Just wanna know coz I might be taking a phone home when I go to India in summer and I wanna make sure it'll work there...

Just had to dump Alltell after 3 years of business over their loss of paperwork for autopayment and not attempting to repair the $100 bill that accrued while I was out to sea. Switched over to CellularOne (about to be Verizon on June 12th, when Verizon takes over CellOne) and the motorola T720. Can honestly say i haven't been happier. The phone is amazing, and more durable then the V60i, and the LG phones they were offering.

Verizon is taking over Cellular One?!? I am just about up on my year contract with CellOne and the alternative I am looking at IS Verizon! I am also seriously looking into verizons wireless internet service. I was in at the local Cellone office yesterday, and while they do now offer wireless internet, the lappy they had set up in the office with the wireless card was moving so slowly it was literally taking MINUTES to download a single page from the internet!! No way in he11 I would go with that slow of a service. I do wonder how much better the verizon service is however. For $80 a month Verizon give you unlimited internet service anywhere in their digital network in the U.S.. I just wonder how much faster it is than regular dial up? Anybody using Verizon wireless internet?

Dang, I just noticed that this thread was from 2003!! I guess Verizon didn't take over Cellone after all!
