Where are you, oh M10?

March 14th, ATI claimed we'd be seeing M10s in a month. Well, it's now almost two months from that date, and none in sight. It's extremely annoying that they have yet to say another word about the chip since its initial debut. I'm so anxious, checking hardocp everyday waiting to finally see the first laptop to have the 9600 available. Why does ATI do this to me?

I am tired of waiting too. Sadly, early paper launches are the
de-facto standard nowadays in the technical field. I applaud ATI's Radeon 9000 announcement - which started appearing in laptops 1 week after being announced. How they could go from that to a 3-4 month wait for the 9600 is beyond me. All I know is they need to hurry up because Nvidia has beat them to the game.
So many people are waiting on these new Sagers that by the time we can finally place an order we will probably have to wait even longer due to demand.

They wanted to ride the centrino wave. That why they and nvidia announced so early.

Having once upon a time done retail I can only imagine the crew at PCTorque are having one of those love/hate relationships with the new machines. There will probably be a big sales wave when they do come out if the posts here are any indication. They are close enough where lots of peeps are waiting for them and thus predicting a spike in the sales curve. At the same time they are so much "discussion only" that the forum natives are getting restless. And generally sales "spikes" aren't what businesses want. Makes it hard to forecast demand and meet the demand that does exist.

It's like waiting for a game to go gold except we don't even know if it's out of beta yet and therefore can only fuel the flames of speculation.

I know personally, I am waiting with the money stashed away for these new beasts to arrive. I know that I'd be myself if I gave into the temptation to order now. The hard part is done, I have the money saved away. Keeping the wife from "using" it in the mean time... we'll see.

Well adam has been saying for the past 2 months that July would be the date but people still doubted him

Actually, I expect to see the first laptops (not necessarily sager) show up in late June (show up in customer's hands that is)

It should be released soon. That doesn't mean it will have shipped though. I'd guess you'll see it fro reviews at the end of the month and in laptops a few weeks later. I think Adam is probably correct though that it wont be july till we see them in a Sager. I imagine they'll be in Dells in the begining of June.
