Sager's Answer to the Compal, countdown thread - Page 11

Luke,

I saw Bluetooth listed on the Clevo website, and I think on your post in the News section. Is that not an option, is it already included, or is it just not on the configurator now?

Can't wait to finally place my order for one of these things, I've been waiting soooo long for the perfect laptop.

Where do you order these from?

Would putting this thing on with an already glossy screen be bad?

Nope, I'm quite happy with the 4750. A return would take a month, and I don't have that time either.

I'm kinda sad about the screen too. Is the screen still bright (similar to a Sony XBrite screen for example). Also, will there be any option for a more powerful Processor (like an M 1.7) on the 3790-C? Thanks, I'm gonna order mine soon.

Who else generally sells Clevo laptops?

I'm wondering when we might see other stores carrying the M37EW (aside from alienware and eurocomp), preferably in barebones form.

Barney,
Link to Nu Shield website is here: http://www.nushield.com/
There are several posts about and a few pics of lappies with this installed. Does a fairly decent job of replicating the "glossy" look. Use the search function to find 'em.

WWHOOOOAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
did exact same config as 3760... only with WSXGA+... ONLY $50 MORE!!!
Im sooo happy... especially with the international warranty
Good bye Asus M6BNE...

glad you guys finally get your dream lappy. mine (and maya's) is still the 4750, no regrets. I still prefer the 17" screen and AMD, and battery life isn't really important to me. Anyway, I think I might recommend the 3790 to a friend who's looking for a laptop. Congrats to everyone who already ordered!

Screens like the XBRITE, Crystal View and the newer Sager screens offer improved brightness, contrast, color tonal range and wide viewing angles. A screen protector won't give you these benefits. The glossiness is actually a negative side-effect of the technology.

If you're using it to protect your screen, that's one thing, but if you're trying to change the visual quality of your LCD, I don't think it will help much.

I don't think this screen is bad though. Its a WSXGA an WUXGA so I'm sure its pretty good quality. Wow this thread has gotten big.

It's actually kind of funny. I priced out a Clevo M37EW (1.7Dothan, 1gig RAM, 7k60 HDD, 12-cell battery) Voodoo PC a few days ago and the total came to over $4500. With the release of competition, I guess, they dropped the price by about $500 and the Sager from PC Torque is still less than half the price of an identically spec'd Clevo from Voodoo.

Its voodoo. They charge a hefty premium.
that's voodoo for ya *ditto
