Sager has to be kidding. Who designed the port placement on that beast... a monkey? All the USB ports are on the left side at the front?! How stupid is that?! Not to mention 3 of the audio jacks are at the front and the 'line in' is somewhere else; why did they split them up?! The firewire is in the front. And the center speaker isn't very centered (granted that's the least important one).

The machine looks professional and all, but plug in a USB mouse and having to make it stretch all the way around the back (most of us are right handed) is just going to look stupid. I'm so glad I got my 8890 before they went out...

USB placement is weird, but I will use either a Wireless or PS/2 mouse so it doesn't bug me.
yeah having all of the usb ports on the left side is unusual, considering if you use a wired mouse and you're right handed, the line would snake around from the left, around the back to the right side, but the cd rom drive is also located on the left, so the mouse wire would be in front of the cd rom drive. you will just have to be extra careful when opening/closing the cd rom drive with that configuration

i don't think i have used the usb ports for a mouse before though. i always use the ps2 ports to save the usb ports for other devices.

One more reason to have a Bluetooth mouse
post #17 of 23
or maybe a good reason to become left-handed

Well i found a few more pictures of the 4750. and according to these pictures i found, the 2 USB ports are in the back, not the left hand side. Here is the link. Hope it helps hold some of the future 4750 fans over.

Hmmm, i just noticed that the # "4780" is in the link... If you want, go to powernotebooks.com , click the 4750 series, and go to photo gallery. Maybe their useing 4780 photos instead of 4750 pictures. How ghetto!

well, they're in the back in those pictures. people should be getting them really soon now, then we'll know for sure about everything

Shipping my 5690 out tomorrow for RMA... 90% chance the credit will be going towards a 4750. Few of the "minor" or "little things" need to be clarified before i spend the $. Waiting ever so patiently for customer reviews.
