Anyone Ordered The New Sentia??? - Page 5

Well 5 days later and I'm now at phase 3... yes it took a week for them to charge the card... we'll see I guess, fingers crossed.

I wanted to ask though, at the top of the page someone mentioned the spare batteries. Does anyone have any idea how long we can expect the batteries to last? On the site they say over 4 hours, but it seems like the review places always end up with numbers less than the company line...

And sorry, one last quick one. Is the 755 2Gz the only dothan? I thought that the 735 (1.7) and 745 (I forget) were as well... Appreciate the help.

The dothan is any processor that has one of those 7XX numbers for notebooks.

And no one has the sentia yet so we can't really say how the battery life will be

the battery life is probably close to the old sentia since they are similar cept the higher cpu's and smaller screen so im going to guess you'll get around 4 hours on battery life.

Currently the new Sentia doesnt have a DVD RW drive avalible (I dont know if the older 14" did). Is it possible to upgrade the drive to a dvd rw drive in the 12" sentia?

They are supposed to be interchangeable so I would assume you can add it as soon as it is available. I have never had a DVD-RW. Are they worth the extra $$$ for backing up data and so forth?

the old sentia did have the option.

a quick question....is it better to order the new Sentia online, or call in the order to AW over the phone? Any thoughts?

well basically I would use it for burning DVD movies and maybe PS2 games with a mod chip.

Keyboard (+ general quality)

WAs reading through one of the posts above and I realized that I haven't seen an AW in person before either and so I would have no idea what the build quality is like. So I just wanted to ask people what they thought of them? I know the new one isn't with people yet, but even the old ones. As in does the keyboard feel solid like an IBM, or does it feel kind of cheap and flexible like a compaq or some of the no name brands? Same things goes for the overall build. Solid and reliable-feeling, or flexible and cheap plastic feeling? I'm guessing for a $$$ setup it should be decent, but some experience would be appreciated.

Probably easier to just call it in.....that way you confirm the order at the same time. If you order over website, they either call you....or you can call them to confirm.....so you end up on the phone anyways.
