Are you ready?

As noted in previous posts, Doom 3 has gone GOLD and we're anticipating an early August release. So, what are you doing to get ready?

I've got the PC ready to rumble; it'll be ready to ROCK when my GeForce 6800 GT DDR3 256 MB beast arrives in a few more days. Next, I needed to stock up on the proper gaming refreshments to keep my eyes sharp and trigger finger quick and frosty. I think the photo speaks for itself. Now, I just need to figure out a way to keep my job while I spend all my waking hours playing the game!

Im behind you 100%.. im gonna drop an Athlon XP 3000 in my boardand add a gig of ram... I built me a 3 foot tall beer bong that can hold 66 cans of mountain dew at once.. im gonna be fxckin HYPE when it gets here .. I have Chernobyl (My custom gamimg chair) ready to kcik some ass... W00T.. i cant freggin wait for it... My brain is KILLING me with antisipation!! ARGG..!!

Well, I guess i could go outside, you know kill two birds with one stone:

1. Get sun.

2. Get Excercise.

The reasons for those being so important right now, is because once i have doom iii, I probably won't come out of my room for like a week , and I don't want to be a pale, fat, person when i finally see the outside world again.(no offence pale, fat people, i'm not being offensive)

Just built a Desktop System which should tear Doom 3 Apart...
(just need to get an Audigy card, this onboard audio is junk!)

AMD Athlon 64 2800+
Gig of Kingston Ram (DDR400)
Geforce 6800GT, OC'ed to 475 / 1175
74GB WD Raptor SATA Drive
CoolerMaster Praetorian Case (best case I've ever owend!)
17" Sony LCD, 16ms 1280x1024 / DVI!
Logitech DiNovo Bluetooh Wireless Desktop Set
12x DVD+-RW Drive

Soon to add water cooling, and a second Raptor Drive... But must get an Audigy First!

What have I done to prepare besides get a new computer..... Ummmm.... does having about 21 lbs (yes, actually 21 One Pound Bags) of Skittles count?
I personally think skittles are the best gaming candy in the world, 100% sugar, and easy to eat a whole bag in one sitting!

Alcohol tends to prohibit gaming (and typing) performance while increasing the level of fun. How did I ever do it with C&C Generals?

This is sad but...
I have had a Athlon 3000+ runing around 2.5Ghz with a gig of DC DDR. For about a year and a half now. A truely top end system in its day. Except I still have a TI4600. The wife said that I can't buy a new one because I don't need one. She doesn't understand at all.

I love working in retail... my manager is gonna let me keep the store open until midnight of the release date, so i can buy my copy before anyone else in the morning.. plus, i get it for 40$ instead of 55$.. good ol employee discounts...

And for all inquiring minds.. here is the Mountain Dew Beer Bong.. I call it.. the Nemesis... The tube in the middle has a circumference of a CD..










Enjoy.

oh yeah.. i was wrong.. this thing is 4ft 6in tall.. it takes 6 people to clear 1 full hit... soda/beer loads from the water bottle on the side... beers are easier.. just shove teh bottle in the hole and they pour in.... all things swirl on their way to the bottom, so there is no head when it hits the bottom.. GREATNESS!!

Nope... the swirl keep the carbonation from being disturbed...... it holds almost 9 1/2 gallons i think... i can down about 3 before my stomach feels like its gonna burst... but thats almost a solid oz of Caffeine... you get about an 18 hour Buzz, and then your body will almost collapse from exhaustion... its all kinds of fun... im gonna try mixing it with nyquil... JUST TO SEE WHAT HAPPENS!! definantly not for the weak hearted.. im gonna make a guess and say this is probbably what its like to do speed with heroine..
