Sorry if your sick of hearing about this, I have searched the forum and read everything there is to read. My question is this:
I have SP/DIF out on my Toshiba laptop which shares its output with the headphone jack. Drivers allow you to swap between digital out and headphone out. My Creative DTT3500's have coaxial digital input. I went out and bought a IXOS 75ohm digital cable (as I am aware SP/DIF requires a 75ohm cable) and a rca -> 3.5mm mono minijack adaptor. Connected it all up and viola... no sound. After reading the various posts on this topic, if I had to use a simple audio patch cable (stereo minijack -> 2 rca) would one of the rca plugs carry the digital signal? Does the cable then not have to be 75ohm? Someone said I needed a 3.5mm stero minijack adaptor, but since the coax cable is a single core it only carries one signal, correct? Any help with this would be greatly appreciative! After spending £50 on the cabling, I wanna get this working! Thanks again for any help.
PS. I know I dont have a sager laptop, but everyone here is just so helpful I thought I would make a post.
