IBM t42 (possible purchase, questions first)

If there are any real complaints about this sytem I would like to know. That is all.

See, I started at the Dell XPS in the hunt for a laptop. I was searching for top of the line processor, RAM, and very importantly a screen that can hit 1600x1200 resolution. Needless to say the XPS did all of that. But 1 - 2 hours of battery life while using heavy applications such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and After Effects, as these are what I will be using at school, did not sound terribly appealing.

My attention was turned toward other options, including a Voodoo notebook with apparently good battery usage, based on an athlon processor. It's still in my bookmarks, but it wasn't quite what I was looking for.

IBM t42. This was recommended to me once before in a forum when I requested what laptop I should get for my digital media education. It has a fast dothan processor, decent battery life?, and FireGL for graphics. The only downside I ever hear about this system is the price (which is not an issue for me right now).

If there are any real complaints about this sytem I would like to know. That is all. Thank you.
