NEED HELP WITH HP PAVILION n5190 BIOS PASSWORD!

My girlfriends friend bought this p3 laptop from a coworker (hp pavilion n5190) for next to nothing because it had a bad hard drive, and the PLAN was for her to get it and bring it to me so that I could do a simple hard drive swap and slap some XP on it.

But the thing came with a BIOS password, which wasn't a big deal since the girl(the seller) told her what the password was, but another coworker who was convinced he was an absolute genius and wanted to show these girls what a super cool computer guru he was, decided to "help her out" by disabling the bios boot password all-together... and he f*cked THAT up. All by himself. Seriously. He did. He didn't have like a dozen cracked out retarded monkeys humping his face while he was doing it OR ANYTHING, and somehow he managed to screw up and actually change the password instead of disabling it. And nobody knows what it is now.

So now I am stuck with the task of performin surgery on this POS, to clear the bios. Now I know that in some cases you have to short out a microchip, and sometimes you can remove the cmos battery for a while, or temporarily short out a capacitor, and though I've never seen cmos jumpers on any laptop motherboard I know alot of people like to talk about doing that, but does anyone here have any experience with doing this on HP laptops because I am having trouble finding the chip, the battery, or anything else in here...

Not that anyone is paying attention, but i found the battery and de-soldered it and left it out for about an hour and a half. For some reason, now I can power on without entering a password, but if i try to enter cmos settings it asks for a password and I cant get in. I suppose i should be thankful that I can get into windows at least.

Oh hey! I wonder if since I can get into windows, maybe I can use a utility to flash the bios!? Would that then wipe out the password?!?!

flashing the bios i would imagine would remove the password since it's essentially completely erasing the bios and putting a brand new one on
