Oooh...a digital camera, that'd be nice!

Thanks for the side pics Just curious though, does the laptop have a tilt to it when it sits on a flat surface?

Yes. It does have a tilt to it. You don't really notice it too much when you're looking at the keyboard straight on, but when you take a look at the sides when the laptop is lying on a flat surface, it's clear that it does have a tilt.

About that problem with standby ...

I dunno if perhaps you guys have a different version than me .. but i don't quite get what you are talking about .. when my laptop goes into standby, after i haven't used it for a while .. the power button starts flashing an amber colour .. moving a mouse or the touchpad won't do anything .. but touching that flashing button will bring the screen back to how it was ... and you can continue on using it ... sounds like you guys were maybe just holding down the power button instead of lightly touching it?

Jay

I suppose i should make it clear that i also have the A70.

It's only a minor issue; however, the issue has nothing to do with the computer being in standby mode. It has to do with the screen turning off (while in "power on" mode) after a period of time and not getting it able to turn back on. The laptop component are all running alright... it's just that the screen won't turn back on unless a hard reset or hibernation is done.

I heard that reinstalling the power manager utility solves the screen blacking out/not turning on problem. Might want to try it...

Just an FYI:
http://notebookforums.com/showthread...698#post554698

There *are* some mobo issues with this machine.
I'll try to get as much info and update evryone...

I didn't even have enough time to benchmark the
unit, but it was awesome, otherwise. XP Pro would
be nice! Regards...

Thanks,

Has anyone tried re-installing the power manager utility by chance? I'd like to know if this works because I'm looking to buy this laptop in the next few days. Thanks.

A70 or A75

I've been using this notebook since 2004, and I love it. Looks great, works great, and runs very fast. If I'm leaving my Satellite on for any amount of time, I always shut the lid. Dust is bad for computer equipment, and I prefer to keep as much of it out of my machine as possible.

Sorry your experience has been less than satisfactory. I really like the A75 a lot.

It's an okay laptop for everyday use. However, for an average gamer like me, the ATI MR9000 doesn't cut it
