Are those the max resolutions, native resolutions, or both?

Both.

Ahh.. thank you.

I cut out a piece of cardboard that (I think) is the size and shape of the screen. I think I'll go with the sxga. I can't imagine needing uxga resolution on a screen that size.

Another question. Is "15.4 inches" viewable, the actual size of the screen) or the size of the whole panel (with bezel)
15.4" viewable, unlike CRT's where this is not the case, LCD's reported screen size is their actual size. And for futher confirmation of what LCD you want it may help you to browse the Inspiron XPS/9100 FAQ particularly part 2.(iii) which has pictures of each and side-by-sides of the WUXGA vs WSXGA.

Cheers,

That is a TREMENDOUS order... at an absolutely great price. I wish I had found the 20% coupons rather than going through Education.

your's looks very similar, with the exception of the extra ram. how do you like it? what kind of games are you able to play with that vid card? that's what I'm most nervous about,.. that card wasn't cheap,.. I hope it performs well...

FarCry plays pretty well with the 9600PT, so don't worry. I run at 1280x800 with all settings on high.

Cool! If it can run that, it'll probably run most of the games I play. I might get UT2k4 though. I wonder how it will handle that.
It should run it pretty well. If I remember correctly, I saw some stats where the Dothan processors beat both Intel's and AMD's top desktop processors on UT2K4. I'll try to find it.

My bad. It doesn't beat them, it just holds its own with almost identical scores.

OMG.

I wish I could get those rebates and stuff down here in NZ. I ordered my i600m for about that price (converted into US$).

Yeah, our prices are a little unbalanced in Aus and NZ MadPig, a shame
But as you may have seen, the coupon system is taking off here so hopefully we start seeing some worthwhile coupons to use.
