Acer Ferrari 3200 Spare Battery - Where to get / buy (available even)?

I purchased the laptop about a week ago and well after reading the reviews in the other systems discussions / reviews board on the 3200, the 3 hours battery lifetime has pushed me to consider getting a 2nd battery for the Acer. I tend to have 2 hours lectures + a tutorial immediatly after that, so I sorta want a backup battery pack.

Does anyone know if the battery for the 3200 is similar to that of other Acer models like its predecessor the Ferrari 3000 or the newer 8003MLi?

Or is it incompatible to other models, meaning that I need to buy directly from Acer? If this is the case, has any 3200 owners bought a spare battery? If so how much did it cost.

The battery pack for the Ferrari 3000 and 3200 have the same silver paint coating. So I would imagine you can only get it from Acer. Also, being that it's a specialty product and prolly rare in the market, I doubt you will see an aftermarket battery from anyone else.

That said however, the Ferrari line has a very good future based on the sellout rate of the 3200 right now. So getting a new battery in the future for your laptop shouldn't be much of an issue BTW, I'm a Ferrari 3200 owner myself. I love this thing!!!

Sorry to hear about the delivery screw up Kelvie. Hopefully you've sorted it out by now and gotten the LG that you wanted (read the thread).

Ah so the 3000 predecessor's batteries can be used by its descendant the 3200. Thanks for the info, maybe I can buy it from a dealer in Australia who has access to the older Acer model's batts or I'll try ordering from a Canadian / American / European vendor.
