Prior to my upgrade to the latest Omega driver for the i8600, whenever I closed my lid, the display would turn off. When I open the lid again, the display instantly turned back on and I was able to use the laptop right away. So far so good.
Then I upgraded to the latest Omega driver. Close the lid, display turns off. No problems here. But when I open up the lid, the display turns on instantly, stays on for a second, then turns itself off for about 2 seconds -- keyboard and mouse don't respond in the meantime -- and then it stays on, ready for use.
I don't like that. Anybody know of a workaround? I'm not sure if it's caused by the Omega driver, but as this was the only thing I changed recently, it leads me to conclude it's the driver.
